Watson Incident, for laptops and handhelds, equips an officer with a field reporting application that is unrivaled in the industry. With the use of artificial intelligence, the usual complexities of reporting are diminished.

Through the intuitive report flow, client-side validation and helpful prompts, a less experienced or infrequent report writer has the assistance necessary to produce a quality report without supervision.
Key Features

In addition to the universal features of the Watson suite, Watson Incident contains these unique attributes:

  • NIBRS, TIBRS validation (including off-line)
  • Consolidated searches of state DMV, NLETS, NCIC, TCIC, and local databases
  • Off-line entry (independent of communication)
  • User-friendly prompts to assist in completing reports
  • Elimination of repetitive entry
  • Instant uploading of reports from the field
  • Incident download capability
  • Web-based incident review
  • Printing of arrest tickets, affidavits, and bond recommendations
Communication

Watson Incident provides inquiry results, including mug-shots, through a secure wireless connection in seconds. All demographic results can be used to populate complainant, victim, suspect, arrestee, vehicle, as well as property elements of incident reports, memos and arrest tickets.

Data Re-use

Data re-use features are maximized throughout the report writing process. Data elements such as addresses can be re-used anywhere in a report. Pull-down menus and pick-lists are available wherever possible to simplify report entry and eliminate NIBRS code lookups.
Return on Investment
The return on Watson Incident quickly outweighs the investment by eliminating clerical data entry and dramatically reducing administrative review. Other long term benefits include deployment on existing hardware, reduced officer training, and reduction of officer workload. Police departments utilizing Watson Incident demonstrate a daily time-saving of greater than 50% in report writing, thereby increasing the officer’s availability in service.
Web-based Reporting
The browser-based reporting tool provides query ability for administrators and supervising officers to view and monitor real-time report writing. Result grids feature sorting, paging and drill-down capabilities to view an incident summary. Field reports become available for review immediately after submission.

Accountability

The Watson Incident client periodically synchronizes with the server to notify supervisors of incomplete reports as they become overdue. Each report is also time-stamped to provide the supervisor with a time-line of the report’s entry. A complete audit history is recorded for activity tracking.
